Jean Gabriel Domergue - The First Pin-Up Artist

Jean Gabriel Domergue was born on March 4, 1889 in Bordeaux and studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He has been called th inventor of the pin-up. His elongated bodies have a manneristic flair. He exhibited at a young age and won the Second Prize of Rome at the Salon in 1913, and the First Prize in 1920.  Here is a website dedicated to his work, and a different blog.
